Marit Tinguely (née Burch) was named after her father’s first love.

Born and raised in the Midwest, the day after graduating from The University of Nebraska with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, she packed her teal blue Geo Storm and drove straight to Los Angeles.

With the financial cushion from a lucky night of gambling and a couch to crash on, she took her time finding a job. On a fluke, she met an alumnus from her high school and he offered her employment as an Assistant Music Producer and Sales Rep at a music company.

Marit spent the next year trying to sell jingles for commercials before she was scooped up by bi-coastal music house tomandandy who then transferred her to their New York office as a full-time Producer.  Over the course of seven years in the city, she changed jobs two more times and eventually became the Executive Producer of the New York office for Elias Arts.

During this time, she also met her husband.  With family on their mind, the couple moved to his native Switzerland.  She is now a happily married mother of two gorgeous girls and two powerhouse dogs.

She can be found teaching yoga, ruining her daughter’s French homework, cleaning up dog vomit, writing her next book or reading someone else’s. She is currently unpublished and the forty something-year-old intern for Filles Vertes Publishing.
